        Before theory, we can make a small test: driving electric scooter to a steep hill, twist the throttle(don’t using brake) to make the scooter keep static in the slope. Observe the ammeter, the controller consumed a lot of power even though the scooter didn’t run forward. For the consumed power, it’s persistent useless power during climbing. 

        When you climbing 10mins, the consumed power will continue 10mins. 

        When you climbing 20mins, the consumed power will continue 20mins.

        The more time for climbing, the more useless power consumed.

        Theoretically, it’s calculation for push-resistance rate.

        Let’s suppose the motor consume 10A to offset the vehicle gravity component force from slope direction. In that case, the push-resistance rate is 1, then thrust efficiency is (1-1)/1*100%=0%; when we increased the current to 20A to climbing slope in low speed, the push-resistance rate is 2, then thrust efficiency is (2-1)/1*100%=50%; when we increased the current to 20A to climbing slope in low speed, the push-resistance rate is 2, then thrust efficiency is (2-1)/1*100%=50%; While we full twisted throttle, the current increased to 100A, the push-resistance rate reach 10 at this moment, thrust efficiency is (10-1)/1*100%=90%. Indeed, the final thrust efficiency will be a little different when there is mechanical resistance and air resistance for influence.

        So, let’s talk about the influence from air resistance. According to above information, we known, the faster we run, the higher push-resistance rate would be, and the more air resistance.         Therefore, the most efficient for climbing is that when there is no serious resistance cased by air resistance, speed up as soon as possible. According to our test experience, the speed section between 40-50km/h.

        Heavy vehicle weight and lower air resistance can drive in higher speed; Less vehicle weight and higher air resistance can drive in lower speed.
